The 2017 Gold Britannia One Ounce Coin celebrates the 30th anniversary of one of the most iconic and enduring bullion series produced by The Royal Mint. First introduced in 1987, the Britannia series has become internationally recognised for its combination of British heritage, exceptional craftsmanship and precious metal content.

To mark this important milestone, the Royal Mint incorporated a special 30th Anniversary Privy Mark into the reverse design, making this issue particularly desirable amongst collectors. The reverse features Philip Nathan's celebrated depiction of Britannia standing firm against the elements, holding a trident and shield while carrying an olive branch to symbolise both strength and peace.

Exclusive to the 2017 anniversary issue, a special privy mark displaying a trident head with the numbers "30" commemorates three decades of Britannia coinage. The obverse bears the fifth definitive portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, one of the most admired modern effigies used on British coinage. Certified by NGC as MS70, the highest grade attainable, this example is perfectly preserved with flawless surfaces and outstanding eye appeal.
