Who we are

Capital Coins is a trading style of CC Britain Limited, company number 16702130, registered in England and Wales at 3rd Floor Marlborough House, 298 Regents Park Road, Finchley, London N3 2SZ. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at admin@capitalcoins.co.uk or on 0333 042 8414.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to answer you or to sell you a coin.

• When you enquire or ask for a call back. Your name, telephone number, email address, the coin you asked about and anything you type into the message box.
• When you buy. Your name, billing and delivery address, email address, telephone number and the order itself. Payment card details are entered on Shopify’s checkout pages and are never sent to, seen by or stored on this website.
• When you join the new stock list. Your email address, and the fact that you asked to be on it.
• When you use the site. Standard server request data such as IP address, browser and the pages requested, which is how the site is served and kept secure.

Why we are allowed to use it

• To perform a contract. Processing and delivering an order you have placed.
• Legitimate interests. Replying to an enquiry you sent us, keeping records of what was agreed, and protecting the site from abuse.
• Consent. The weekly new stock email, which you asked for and can leave at any time from a link in any of them.
• Legal obligation. Keeping the accounting and tax records the law requires us to keep.

Who else sees it

We do not sell personal data and we do not pass your telephone number to anyone. We share data only with the suppliers who make the business work:

• Shopify. Our checkout, order records and customer records. Enquiries and call back requests are stored there so that whoever rings you back is working from the same place as the orders.
• Our delivery partner. The name and address needed to get the parcel to you.
• Feefo. If you leave a review, it is collected and published by Feefo under their own terms.
• Vercel. They host this website, so every page you open is served by them. They also count visits for us: no cookie, nothing stored on your device, and no identifier that outlives the day. Your IP address reaches them the way it reaches any website you open, and is used to work out a rough country and to group a visit together, not to identify you.
• Our accountants, and any authority we are legally required to disclose to.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as UK tax and accounting law requires. Enquiries are kept for as long as they are useful to answering you and to any sale that follows. Email list subscriptions are kept until you leave the list. If you want your data removed sooner, ask us and we will remove whatever we are not required to keep.

Cookies

This site sets only what it needs to work, such as remembering the contents of your basket. Shopify sets its own cookies during checkout, which are covered by their policy. If we later add analytics or advertising cookies we will ask you first and this page will say so.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to us using it, and ask for it in a portable form. You can also withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Write to admin@capitalcoins.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use personal data we will update this page. Come back to it if you want to check what it says today.
