The obverse features the crowned portrait of His Majesty by Martin Jennings, created specifically for the Coronation coinage and reserved for this important royal occasion. The reverse continues the historic Sovereign tradition with Benedetto Pistrucci's iconic depiction of Saint George slaying the dragon, a design associated with the Sovereign since its introduction in 1817.
