Issued in a Limited Edition of just 400, this exceptional 2022 UK Platinum Jubilee £50p Gold Proof coin celebrates 70 years of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch in British history. Released by The Royal Mint to mark this historic milestone, the coin is the first fifty pence design ever used to commemorate a royal event.
The reverse, designed by Osborne Ross, features a bold “70” design with the crowned ER royal cypher inside the zero and the anniversary dates 1952 to 2022 beneath. The obverse displays a distinctive equestrian portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by John Bergdahl, created exclusively for the Platinum Jubilee coin collection. Struck in 22 carat gold to proof standard, the coin weighs 15.50g and contains 14.21g of fine gold.
Our example has been professionally graded PF70, representing a perfect proof grade, making it an outstanding addition for collectors of modern Royal Mint issues.
