The Lion of England is the first release in The Royal Mint’s highly acclaimed Queen’s Beasts series. Struck in one troy ounce of 999.9 fine gold and graded a perfect MS70 by NGC, this coin represents the highest standard of mint condition.

A symbol of bravery, strength and royal heritage since the 12th century, the lion is shown holding the shield of the Royal Arms. The design is inspired by the heraldic statues created for Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953. The obverse features Jody Clark’s fifth portrait of Her Late Majesty, with the reverse also designed by Clark.

With a face value of £100, this coin is British legal tender and Capital Gains Tax exempt in the UK.
